It is usually your company leadership or boss asking: “What have you done for me lately?” We have all had those bosses who are always looking for the next big thing and we have to provide it.
However, I want you to imagine your career was asking you: “What have you done for me lately?”
The best news I received this week was a letter from the National Conference of Bar Examiners. One of my former employees was applying for a license to practice law. The National Conference of Bar Examiners prepares character and fitness reports for bar admissions.
I wish I had received more of these types of requests over the years; sadly I have not.
So, now I ask you – “What have you done to support your career development goals lately?”
How about taking the time to invest in yourself and your future? During the 4th quarter, decide on the next two career moves you want to make, assess your current readiness for those roles and implement a plan to take the actions that will elevate your career.
A question for you to consider:
- How will you demonstrate your readiness for the next stage in your career?
